Getting started
What Amy is, and your first hour with her.
What is Amy?
Amy is an AI email and SMS marketing app for Shopify. She plans a month of campaigns on a calendar, writes each one from your own products for you to read and approve, runs 12 ready-made automations like abandoned cart and welcome, and runs your signup popup.
How do I get Amy?
Amy installs from the Shopify App Store. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you the moment the listing is live.
What do I set up first?
Home opens on a setup checklist. It walks you through your brand, your sending domain and mailing address, the offers Amy may use, how your list was collected, and your privacy policy link. Amy brings in your Shopify customers by herself, and nothing goes out until you press Start sending.
Will Amy send anything I haven’t seen?
No. Every automation starts switched off, and you read and approve it before it runs. Campaigns always need your approval to send.
What does Amy need from my Shopify store?
Your products, orders, customers and discounts, so she can write from your catalog, time messages to orders and use the discount codes you approve. Amy’s web pixel tells her when a shopper browses or leaves a cart. You approve these permissions when you install.
Switching to Amy
Bringing your list over, and knowing when you’re done.
Can I bring my list from Klaviyo?
Yes. Connect one read-only Klaviyo key and your contacts, consent history and unsubscribes come over. Your Shopify customers come over on their own, with the marketing consent Shopify recorded.
What happens to the people who unsubscribed from Klaviyo?
They stay unsubscribed. Amy imports your unsubscribes and suppressions along with your list, and an old opt-in can never override someone’s opt-out.
Can I switch from Omnisend, Mailchimp or another tool?
Yes. Amy brings in your Shopify customers with the email and text marketing consent Shopify recorded for each one, so everyone who subscribed at your checkout comes over. A direct import, with the old tool’s own consent history and unsubscribes, is built for Klaviyo today. If your list lives somewhere else, email help@hireamy.ai before you switch and we’ll help you plan it.
How do I know when I can turn Klaviyo off?
Amy tells you. The Leaving Klaviyo card on Home checks each step: every automation running in Amy, the import finished, your whole list reachable in one send, Amy’s popup live with Klaviyo’s forms removed, and nothing else in Klaviyo still doing a job. It shows roughly when your whole list will be reachable, and Home says so the day it all goes green.
Can Amy learn from my old Klaviyo campaigns?
If you allow it. With your OK, Amy reads which of your past Klaviyo campaigns earned the most, and on which days and hours, and plans your calendar from that history instead of starting from scratch. You can turn it off at any time.
Campaigns and email
How Amy plans, writes and sends.
How does the campaign calendar work?
Campaigns opens on a calendar of the month with Amy’s recommended sends on their days, planned around holidays, sales moments and the offers you approve. Open one and Amy writes it so you can read it and see who it reaches, then approve it, edit it, move it, or ask for a different idea. She learns which campaigns, days and hours work for your store and plans the next month from that.
Can I edit what Amy writes?
Yes, all of it. Edit the subject and every section of an email yourself, tell Amy what to change in plain words, move the offer, or change which products it shows. Edits to a scheduled campaign save as you type and keep its send time.
Which address do my emails come from?
Your own domain. Amy sets up a sending subdomain for your store, shows you the DNS records to add, and checks them for you. Every email carries your mailing address, a one-click unsubscribe and a link to your privacy policy.
Why can’t I email my whole list on day one?
A new sending domain has to earn trust with inbox providers. Amy warms it up: she starts with the people who opened, clicked or ordered recently, and raises your daily limit as those sends land cleanly. A campaign bigger than today’s limit goes out over the next few days, most engaged first, and Amy shows you how long it will take before you send.
Does Amy test what she sends?
Yes. She tests subject lines on campaigns and on every marketing automation, and keeps the one more people open once it is clearly ahead. She also tests the styles of your signup popup and keeps the one that collects the most contacts.
Who gets my marketing emails?
Only people who subscribed. Anyone who unsubscribes isn’t emailed marketing again unless they sign up again, addresses that bounce or report spam are left off, and someone who hasn’t engaged in six months is left out of regular campaigns so they don’t drag down your inbox placement.
Texting
Who Amy texts, and when.
Can Amy text my customers on day one?
Email, yes. Texting starts once carriers verify your sending number, a toll-free or registered 10DLC number, which can take a few days. Amy texts US numbers only.
Who will Amy text?
Only people who agreed to receive texts, through Amy’s signup popup or your Shopify checkout. Marketing texts go out only between 8am and 8pm in the shopper’s own time zone, every text names your store and says how to reply STOP, and a STOP is honored right away.
Popup, offers and store credit
Growing your list and the deals Amy may use.
What does the signup popup do?
It collects emails and phone numbers on your store with the offer you choose. It can fill the screen or sit as a card, and it can be a game: spin the wheel, pick a card or scratch to reveal, where every shopper wins your real offer. Amy can test the versions and keep the one that collects the most contacts. Once someone closes it, a small tab brings it back, and subscribers never see it.
Will Amy use discounts I haven’t approved?
Setup asks you which offers Amy may use, like 25% off or free shipping, and she never runs one that isn’t on your list. If you allow it she can create a matching code in Shopify, and saving an empty list means she offers no discounts at all.
How does store credit work?
If you turn it on, each order earns a store credit that only that customer can use, with a clear expiry date. Amy reminds them a week before it runs out and again on the last day, and takes the credit back if the order is cancelled or returned.
Pricing and billing
What you pay, and how.
How much does Amy cost?
Amy costs $10 a month, including 2,000 emails and your sending number. After that it’s $0.90 per 1,000 emails and $0.009 per text segment. Contacts are never billed. Amy bills through Shopify, on the same invoice as your other apps.
How am I billed?
Through Shopify. Amy is a Shopify app subscription, so the charge shows up on the same invoice as your other apps. Amy reports what you sent, Shopify calculates the charge, and we never see your card.
Is there a free trial?
No. Every email Amy sends costs real money to deliver, and free months would push the price up for everyone. Nothing sends until you turn an automation on.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Uninstall Amy from your Shopify admin and the subscription ends. Anything you already sent that billing period is still charged.
Data and privacy
Your customers’ data, and yours.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Amy stops sending the moment you uninstall, and her access to your store ends. Shopify asks apps to erase a store’s data 48 hours after it uninstalls, and Amy erases yours then.
How does Amy handle a customer’s privacy request?
Amy answers Shopify’s customer data and erasure requests. When a customer is erased, their details are removed from Amy and their address is kept off future sends, even if it turns up again in an import.
Can I prove my subscribers opted in?
Yes. Consent lookup in Settings shows one customer’s consent record and everything Amy sent them, and you can download every customer’s consent record, with the evidence behind it, as a spreadsheet.
Does Amy add tracking to my links?
Yes. Every link to your store carries standard UTM tags, so your Shopify reports and analytics credit the visit to Amy.
